Fermented under the aegis of ambient yeast in neutral French oak, this takes pungency into another realm. Scents of gooseberry, durian, sorrel and wasabi, compact and taut. The tension unravels with air across a delineated track of juicy phenolics, the breadth of the oak and electric acidity. A rapier-like thrust of energy seves as the opus. Mid-weighted, long forceful and absolutely delicious. 94 points
