Bannockburn Chardonnay 2020 750ml
A classic, full-bodied white whine
The Carrick Bannockburn Chardonnay makes up part of our estate range, representing the varietal classics or core range. Carrick’s wind-swept site and glacial alluvial soils, help to define the acidity of this wine, which balances the citrus and stone fruit characters, as well as giving length and flow.
Released after at least 6 months of bottle age, the Bannockburn Chardonnay is classic, full-bodied white wine with toast, citrus and marmalade notes. Serve slightly chilled and enjoy with pasta, chicken or grain salads.
The Bannockburn Chardonnay is made from 100% Mendoza clone, hand-picked and sorted in the vineyard. It is whole-bunch pressed to tank, settled overnight, then fermented in barrel with wild yeast, stirred daily during fermentation. It is aged in barrels for 14 months (15% new).
"This is a delightfully clean, beautifully balanced, intensely citrusy chardonnay from winemaker Rosie Menzies, that has the makings of something seriously special. Produced from 100% Mendoza clone fruit that’s been hand-harvested, whole bunch pressed, fermented wild and aged for 14 months in oak barrels, a small percentage of which were brand new. The result is a bracingly fresh, grapefruit-laced chardonnay that has buoyancy and terrific tension and texture." - Yvonne Lorkin, dish Magazine -
