The 2021 Struckman Petite Cabernet Franc-Syrah-Montepulciano from Waiheke Island is a captivating blend crafted with artistry. Sourced from the Church Bay vineyard, it combines Cabernet Franc, whole-bunch Syrah, and Montepulciano. With a low yield, the grapes were harvested in March/April 2020 and underwent spontaneous and cultured fermentation. After 15 months of aging in old barrels, the wine reveals a bright red edge and enticing aromas of redcurrants, cherry, plum, herbs, and spice. It offers a soft tannin structure, a smooth, juicy palate, and is best enjoyed now.
