Grown on our estate Vina del Mar block overlooking Onetangi, the Luna Negra 2019 is a wine of incredible concentration and ripeness. Malbec’s inherent weakness is that it can overcrop and become diluted and flabby. But our steep northeast-facing slope and low cropping produces a “Black Moon” Malbec that is thoroughbred.
Black and blue forest fruit on the nose with a hint of wild herb and a generous lick of oak. The palate is rich, long, and dangerously drinkable.
The 2019 is capable of cellaring for many years. Drinking Luna Negra is like doing an energetic dance with a Cuban beauty queen.
