Church Road 1
Malbec 2021 750ml
This soil type is the lowest vigour, lowest nutrient soil in Hawkes Bay, restricting vine vigour
and resulting in low crops of intensely flavoured fruit. Sheltered from the cold southerly wind
by Roy’s Hill, this is one of our warmest sub-regions, ideally suited to red winegrowing. A
robust and characterful red, with generous, juicy dark berry fruit, lifted violet floral notes,
cedar, cacao and warm spice. The opulence is balanced with voluminous, fine-grained
tannins that bring definition and length to the wine. While approachable now, this wine will
age positively for 15 plus years if cellared well.
