VINEYARD: Te Hau, Matapiro, Hawke's Bay
Located in one of the coldest sub-regions in Hawke’s Bay, Te Hau is an elevated and inland vineyard that experiences long, warm days and cool nights. Vines lie on soils made up of a thin layer of windblown loess that cover old, coarse red gravels combined with layers of volcanic silt.
WINEMAKERS COMMENT:
Fresh aromas of lime zest, citrus and white flowers lead into a vibrant, dry wine with plenty of texture. Flavours of melon and grapefruit bring brightness to the palate, while a partial barrel ferment adds subtle complexity and a gentle mineral edge. Crisp acidity keeps everything lively and fresh through the finish.
91 Points James Suckling - Aromas of jalapenos, blueberry bush, cut grass and grapefruit. The palate is light-bodied with racy acidity and a fresh citrus finish. Drink now.
93+ Points Cameron Douglas MS
