Pask Gimblett Gravels Syrah 2024 750ml

An expressive, full-bodied Syrah with an arresting depth of colour and a lifted aromatic profile of dark plum, black cherry and violet florals - underscored by cracked black pepper and dried herbs. The palate is pure and structured, built around a core of blackberry, mulberry and cassis. Well-integrated tannins, savoury earthiness, warm spice and a touch of mocha give way to oak, a whisper of smoke and dark chocolate. Fresh acidity runs through the wine, keeping everything balanced. The finish is long, poised and mineral - a wine that rewards patience.

Our Pask Gimblett Gravels Syrah pairs beautifully with slow roasted lam shoulder, braised beef short rib or herb crusted venison - dishes that echo the wines dark fruit, spice and earthy depth.

Parcels of Syrah were carefully selected from the stoniest sites across our Watercourse and Settlement blocks on our Gimblett Gravels vineyard.

Following a three-day cold soak, the wine was wild fermented in four small parcels, each representing a distinct aspect of the vineyard. Hand plunging was employed throughout fermentation to extract colour and develop soft, supple tannins while preserving the varietals characteristic floral lift and spice. Each parcel was then gently pressed to French Barriques for 10 months of oak maturation.

25% new French oak | 100% wild ferment | 100% malolactic fermentation

Nose of dark cherry, spice, violets and pepper. Oak-infused black fruit infused carries to a smoky, savoury finale. 91 Pts Silver - Decanter World Wine Awards, 2026
