The 2011 season has produced a classic Martinborough Pinot Noir full of juicy red and dark fruits with a heady scent of spice in background. The attractive aromas belie a palate showing serious richness and weight thanks in part to the above average warmth during the growing season. Hand-picked from our oldest blocks of Pinot on the Martinborough Terrace, the age of these vines is now beginning to show a real sense of ‘terroir’. This is most evident on the palate where the older vines have produced a wine showing great complexity and depth that will see this wine age gracefully for at least ten years.
