Reserve Syrah 2020 750ml

Our fifth Reserve Syrah is made from fruit from our Chalk Ridge block, just to the south of Havelock North. It is a steep, north facing amphitheatre that is strewn with fossilised limestone. The reserve fruit comes from the top of the hill, where more sun hours and less water retention results in deeper, richer flavours. Vintage 2020 very challenging due to Covid restrictions, but the vineyard crew were ultimately able to hand harvest (in their bubble) some excellent quality fruit on March 31^st 2020. The wine spent 12 months in French oak (25% new) before assemblage. Bottling was on 30^th August 2021.
