A premium producer, Black Barn lies on the north facing slopes of the Havelock hills in Hawke’s Bay.

Estate grown and hand picked to ensure optimum quality and ripeness, our artisan winemaking philosophy produces wines of depth, character and cellaring ability that have been rewarded with a string of wine show successes.

We are considered to be a premium producer of Chardonnay and Merlot with our Super premium Reserve Chardonnay and Reserve Merlot considered bench mark wines for both Hawke’ Bay and NZ.

A classic Riesling with lime, apple and a subtle mineral note. The palate is succulent with bright acidity and structure. This wine is a great aperitif and an ideal partner for a wide range of foods.

Immensely complex and engaging, the wine shows white flesh stone fruit, lemon pith, subtle vanilla and roasted nut characters with a hint of flinty note. The concentrated palate displays excellent focus and persistency with beautifully layered mouthfeel. Offering stunning purity and poise, the wine shows dark plum, sweet cherry, floral, tapenade and roasted nut characters on the nose. The succulent palate delivers beautifully rounded mouthfeel and fine texture, finishing persistent and velvety. Wonderfully layered and elegantly structured.
