Guided by our honest love for wine, not prescribed trend or borrowed values.
Three Fates is the winegrowing and winemaking project of Holly Girven Russell, Casey Motley, and Hester Nesbitt from Te Matau-a-Māui, Hawke's Bay. The trio are united in their passion for working intuitively and acting minimally in the winery to reflect the ever-changing character of the vineyard; trapping a season in a bottle. Three Fates allows the team to pursue their joy for winemaking, crafting the wines they want to drink.

Reviews
Three Fates Arneis 2024
Pale lemon. A subtle nose of sweet almond, white flowers and red apple. The flavours reflect on a vibrantly tangy palate of steely acidity as it draws towards the dry finish. Notes of sweet basil and thyme emerge after a moment, merging with the persistent red apple and almond flavours. Very closed and reticent on the nose currently, this linear, restrained dry white has hidden power and promises to gain complexity in the mid-term.

Three Fates x Gordon Russell Chenin Blanc 2024
Bright gold. A very exotic and almost tropical nose with exuberant waves of ripe pineapple, jackfruit, rewa rewa nectar and cinnamon. The palate is weighty, powerful and intense; the concentrated, honeyed fruit coiling tightly around the chalky core of phenolics and electric acidity. Waxy complexity, lees-aged richness and hidden wood spice layer to build size and shape across the back-palate before culminating in a carefully measured, energetic and impressively long finish. An outstanding wine which is already giving sheer drinkability today but has the depth and structure to age for a decade easily. 95 Points, Stephen Wong MW. The Real Review.
Three Fates Cabernet Franc 2024
Vivid light purple. A very perfumed nose of blueberry, red berry and cedar with hints of tobacco leaf, creamy hazelnut and the fresh lift of tart wild blackberry. There is a suggestion of something dusty and woody underneath. The palate is bright and recognisably varietal, weaving the mid-weight tannins, fresh acidity, tobacco leaf and mulberry bush flavours into a crunchy, mouth-watering combination. As the flavours crest over the back-palate, cedar and cinnamon notes rise to meet the lingering tannins, adding inflections to the finish which will continue to develop in the mid-term. 93 Points, Stephen Wong MW.
