Named after Henri Bourgeois’ wife; the ‘Solange’ Methode Traditionelle honours her memory and her importance at Clos Henri.
As the namesake for our famous Chapel, Solange carefully stands guard over the small parcels of Pinot Noir which grow in the Chapel’s view.
Delicate and capricious; offering delicately flavoured white juice, Pinot Noir provides the perfect base for our Blanc de Noirs.
Excerpts taken from Solange’s actual handwriting, form the center of the label. It is a sparkling wine with vivacity and elegance much like its namesake, it dances on the palate, the same way the native Tussock Butterfly flits across our clay bound hills.
Drink by itself as aperitif, or serve with fresh oysters and lemon reduction.

"Very pale salmon colour. Quite a decadent nose with hints of wild strawberry, tonka bean and watermelon. The palate is flavoursome, full-ish and off-dry with plush fruit, almost tropical in intensity and ripeness, finishing with a hint of raspberry and white chocolate. Mouth-filling and creamy but refreshingly balanced on the finish with a late touch of phenolic grip."

The 2022 Vintage Blanc de Noirs has exceptionally fine, consistent bubbles with notes of white peach, fresh raspberry brioche and white strawberries. The palate offers fruit flavours that reflect the nose, with a mousse that is fine, saline and crisp. A lovely wine that will continue to develop and reward from the day of purchase through 2030+.
