Clos Henri
Waimaunga Pinot Noir 2024 750ml
Lying at the convergence between 3 distinct geological ages, Clos Henri has one of the most distinctive soil morphologies in the Marlborough Valley. Paying homage to these unique terroirs and revealing the true nature of these wines is the ultimate objective of the Bourgeois Family. Our Single Vineyard cuvées tell the story of the simplicity and elegance offered by the confluence of glacial and windswept terroirs.
Named for the Waimaungan Glaciation period that was instrumental in forging this unique terroir, this Pinot Noir is characterised by bold spice and dark fruits, a careful balance of terroir and winemaking, resulting in a powerful and supple wine that shows off the layers of weathered, windblown clays that nursed its grapes.
Serve with a rack of lamb and kumara mash; or beef rendang for a cold wintry evening.

#40 / 100 Top 100 New Zealand Wine of 2025
"A broad wine with volume, drive and energy. On the nose it displays crushed raspberries, red cherries, wet stones and some wild herbs. Medium-bodied with creamy tannins. The palate is quite opulent but remains balanced and precise, with a long, lively, flavorful finish."

"A rich, creamy nose of black plum and cherry with chocolate and vanilla sits over a deeper layer of earth, pepper and seed spice. The palate is dense, compact and concentrated with decadent Black Forest cake flavours. Grainy, chocolaty oak tannins build across the back along with some noticeable alcoholic warmth. This very young, powerful wine is packed with fruit intensity and will gain savoury complexity in the years to come as it mellows."

"Aromas of blackberries, wet and dark earth, dark mushrooms and some flint. Medium- to full-bodied and spicy, showing terra cotta and black pepper. This has a creamy, polished texture and a flavorful finish. Drink now."
91 - ROBERT PARKER WINE ADVOCATE
"The 2023 Waimaunga Pinot Noir is reductive and mineral, with dark forest-floor characters, peat and black cherries, new leather and blackberries. The wine has loads of cigar leaf and black pepper, with black cherry and tapenade to close. It's long, lingering and chalky. The ripeness on show here is in the guise of clove and dark chocolate."
