Perfumed aromas of wild raspberries, rose petals, cedar and forest floor. The medium-bodied palate has finely integrated tannins and a seamless mouthfeel lifted by focused acidity carrying notes of dark cherries, strawberry compote, orange oil and cinnamon bark. Exceptionally well-balanced and integrated. Drink or hold.

Complex and intriguing, layers of spice and mineral, wild flowers and botanicals then red fruits of cherry and raspberry flesh, some red apple skin and red tea. Taut, youthful and poised as the wine touches the palate. Fruit flavours repeat first then textures from tannins and acidity layer in a youthful power. Flavours of toasty baking spices and exotic fruit teas follow. A youthful wine still needing some development time, natural flavours driving the core message with a judicious approach to oak use. Right on the finish the fleshy saline qualities kick in adding length and intrigue. Best drinking from 2025 through 2035.

Attractively scented wine with black cherry, floral/red rose and fresh herb characters on the nose and subtle spices on the palate. Supple, appealing and accessible wine with cellaring potential.

This blend has been selected from the barrels that I believe show my unique and expressive interpretation of 2021 vintage. This wine has had multiple awards in NZ and overseas.
