Welcome to The Marlborist e-cellar door
MARLBOROUGH'S NEXT GENERATION OF WINEMAKERS. Nestled between the snow-capped Southern Alps and the Pacific Ocean, at the top of New Zealand’s South Island, this is our home, the place where we have built our knowledge and honed our craft, working for some of region's pioneering winegrowers.
Sourcing fruit from a small selection of our favourite sites across Marlborough, a gentle, hands-off approach is applied in the winery with the aim of creating beautifully expressive, elegant wines that reflect and respect the site, the season and the region.

The Marlborist Grande Sauvignon 2023
The 2023 Grande leads with a nose rich in spices and inflections of toasty oak, white currant and juniper, quinine and cold tea. On the palate, the wine is concentrated and really fans out through the finish. Actually the finish is where this wine comes together, like a concertina, with flavour and texture folded neatly and splayed outward, making for a big impact and plenty of enduring complexity. This is a really good wine here.

The Marlborist Chardonnay 2021
The Marlborist team has crafted a supple, satisfying and succulent 2021 Chardonnay. There’s a silky texture with ripe pineapple, well-managed flint, struck match, a touch of creaminess and a hint of smoky bacon (15% new puncheon). The acidity provides a sense of purpose. While the elevated alcohol is a touch warming, this is a well-made wine that shows that Marlborough’s potential for Chardonnay is very real.

The Marlborist Pinot Noir 2022
A bouquet of pinosity and style, fragrance and bright light red fruit scents. Additional aromas of baking spices and dry stone minerality, rose and a mix of newish and older French oak barrel suggestions. Dry, taut, fruity and delicious, a wine with texture and poise, a core of pinosity and mouthfeel, layers of wood and red apple, cherry and cinnamon vanilla spice layers. Well made, youthful and developing still. Best drinking from 2026 through 2036.
