TWR Pinot Noir 2022 750ml

For our Marlborough Pinot Noir we prefer the heavier clay content soils of the southern clays and southern valleys. This area of Marlborough has garnered a reputation as the "happy place" for Pinot Noir in the region. It's naturallly lower yielding and the clay brings complexity but also a lovely suppleness to the wines.  We work with several sites in the area and vines that are over 25 yrs old so they produce fruit of outstanding quality. Then its over to the winery focus where every little detail is approached throughtfully so that we can ensure we give each parcel the attention that it needs.

This Pinot Noir exhibits gorgeous, fragrant notes of ripe strawberry and omega plum with hints of baking spice, mocha, and some complex savoury undertones. The fleshy, silky tannins combine with vibrant flavours of omega plum and strawberry. The palate has serious weight and flows from fruit purity into more savoury and complex flavours. The wine has great fleshiness and depth and finishes with a lingering persistence of fruit, fine tannin and well integrated oak. Bottled un-fined and with minimal filtration.

Complex and youthful, taut and dry, a wine of texture as much as it is of fruit, I feel this is a voice of place as much as it is style that Anna and Jason like to showcase. The fruit handling with a core of freshness and fine savoury seams not only add complexity, they speak to the slightly wild side of Marlborough as a place to grow fruit. An abundance of polished tannins and backbone of acidity, the core of fruit flavours soak up all. Oak sits well just enough in the background not to standout adding texture and complexity. A delicious wine best enjoyed from mid to late 2024 through 2034. Outstanding
