Ayrburn
Homestead Pinot Noir 2024 750ml
The Homestead is our constant at Ayrburn. As a metaphor for life, this original building has been, at times, weathered and at other times standing proud and strong. But it has always represented something to return to. It’s the reason we’ve bestowed this name on this wine, a beautifully consistent and reliable subregional Pinot Noir from Bendigo that after the first sip we’re sure you’ll be regularly returning to. Rich and seductive blackberry compote, cacao and baking spice form the aromatic backbone, accompanied by a hint of wild herb that’s the hallmark of this subregion. This a well-structured and bold Bendigo Pinot Noir that is enjoyable now but will also reward those who cellar it.
Our 2024 Homestead Pinot Noir is from a well-established vineyard nestled in the rugged terrain of Bendigo in Central Otago. Although being one of the warmest subregions in Central Otago, the vineyard is perched on an elevated hillside that provides the perfect conditions for crafting expressive Pinot Noir. The unique combination of altitude and exposure ensures cool nights that preserve acidity while warm, sun-drenched days enhance ripeness and flavour development. A diverse selection of clones, carefully planted across multiple blocks, contribute layers of complexity, with each clone bringing its own distinctive aromatics, tannin structure, and profile.
