Welcome to Brennan Wines e-cellar door
Brennan Wines is a family-owned boutique estate vineyard, winery and cellar door situated in the Gibbston sub-region of Central Otago. The Brennan family first planted vines here over 20 years ago with an intention to produce limited quantities of exceptional wine that truly represents what this region has to offer. Our site offers a wide variation of soils and aspects and this diversity is an instrumental factor in the development of layered complexity in our wines. While Pinot Noir is our mainstay, innovation with different varietals such as Gewürztraminer, Muscat and Tempranillo allows us to explore and expand the possibilities of the Gibbston region.
As our vine numbers and varieties have grown, our philosophy has always remained the same: every wine we make is grown and produced on-site. We embrace the varied conditions of this incredible landscape and strive to showcase the hallmarks of our site. Each wine is a bit of history in a bottle, different from one vintage to the next, yet always founded in elegance, finesse and poise - a true sense of this place.
It has been a fantastic journey so far with so much yet to come.

Platinum, 97 points
~ Decanter World Wine Awards 2021
"A perfumed, complex nose of cherry and strawberry overlaying pepper spice and mocha leads into a long, appealing palate. Satisfying Sunday roast flavours dominate, with some red fruit, florality and tannin on the mellow savoury finish"

Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, May 2022
"This is splendidly complex and inviting on the nose with dark berry, wild thyme, almond, warm mushroom and smoked game notes, leading to a beautifully rounded palate that's soothing and lingering. Gorgeously elegant and harmonious, making it highly appealing. At its best: now to 2025."
2015 Brennan Pinot Noir
Cameron Douglas, MS
"Bottle age showcases complexity and harmony with aromas of fresh and drying cherry, plum, autumn leaves..oak aromas of cedarwood and cinnamon a whisper of insence and baker's spice add depth and intrigue. Harmonious and complete on the palate with fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet, fine integrated wood flavours, tannins with acidity providing contrast. Drinking at its best now through 2024."
