Carrick Arthur's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021 750ml

This single-block, single clone wine is named for the couple who established this Bannockburn vineyard, Sue and Bill Arthur. The northwest-facing aspect and the silty loam soils combine with the own-rooted old vines to carry a unique sense of place into this limited production wine.

Winemaking: Hand-picked and sorted in the vineyard, 100% 10/5 clone from 25-year-old vines. De-stemmed to tank, fermented wild using a combination of pump-overs and punch-downs to manage the cap. On skins for 27 days, pressed, settled, and racked to barrels - for 9 months, 15% new.

"Complex and fragrant, layers of fresh red berry fruits aromas and barrel, mineral and baking spice oak qualities. Black currant and dark cherry, some raspberry then vanilla and cinnamon baking spice scents. Mineral, earthy and dry on the palate with contrasting textures from fresh fruits and tannins, acidity and barrel. Taut and youthful, an abundance of fine chalky tannins and medium+ acid line. Well made and ready to drink from late 2024 through 2030+."  - Cameron Douglas -
