Kinross Cellar Door

The Kinross Cellar Door is located in Gibbston, along with Kinross Cottages and Bistro. We are the exclusive Cellar Door for five local, boutique and world-renowned wine labels, including the Kinross label.

Finalist in 2019 NZ Cellar Door of the Year Awards, Kinross proudly represent the very best of Central Otago wine, arguably NZ's most desirable wine region, giving you the opportunity to experience different styles and subregions, in a singular location.

Kinross is the official cellar door for five high end, boutique Central Otago wineries - Coal Pit, Hawkshead, Kinross, Valli and Wild Irishman. Our wine partners are known for their passion for craftsmanship and quality, resulting in award winning wines of complexity and intense flavour.

The newest wine label is our own Kinross label. After the vineyards were purchased in 2014, it took a number of years to get them producing excellent quality fruit and the first vintage of Kinross wine was released in 2018. Focusing on Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc we look forward to adding to our selection.

We also utilise the close relationships with our wine partners, often getting talented winemakers like Jen Parr and Grant Taylor from Valli to create our beautiful single vineyard and multiple varietals for us.

Kinross visit was the highlight of our holiday in Queenstown

My partner and I visited Kinross on Thursday 4th of March, for a wine tasting and lunch. From the moment we arrived we were treated to a wonderful welcome and experience. We had a very amazing wine tasting experience with Florian, who had an in depth knowledge of the lovely wines we tasted as well as providing history of the area. After the tasting which was held in a private room we enjoyed our lunch in a beautiful out door area. At all times we received very professional and friendly service. We joined the wine club, and look forward to receiving our wine. Next time we visit Queenstown we intend to visit Kinross again and stay a night or two in the cottages. Thank you to all staff who made our day so special

Wine tasting

We came on a wine tasting woth a group of friends - amazing service and wine selection, topped off with outstanding food and views. Our host Sam was an absolute legend. Would return without question ?

Gourmet Tasting and Lunch Experience

We booked in for the Gourmet Tasting and Lunch Experience and had a fabulous time. Right from the beginning we had VIP service - our very own private tasting experience with some lovely wines. Then we were taken through for our lunch and further tastings. The 3 courses for lunch were absolutely delicious and the matches wine tastings perfectly complimented the food.

Afterwards we treated ourselves to dessert and a glass of dessert wine and had no regrets.

I would high recommend this experience to anyone who is interested in wine and food pairings. We just might have to do it again next time we visit :-)
We even opted into joining the wine club as Kinross offer wines from 5 different vineyards and so there is definitely something for everyone here..
