Welcome to Goldie Estate

Waiheke Island sits an hour from Auckland by ferry, but it feels like a different world — a small, sun-drenched island of steep hillsides, coastal breezes and some of the world's most distinctive wine country.

Goldie Estate is a boutique vineyard and winery set among 30 acres of native bush, rolling vines and olive groves. Our story begins in 1978, when Kim and Jeanette Goldwater planted the first vines on Waiheke Island, pioneering what has become one of New Zealand's most celebrated wine regions.

Today, our winegrowing team, led by Heinrich Storm, tends those same established vineyards with care — producing Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Chardonnay and Viognier from vines that have had decades to find their voice.

Goldie Estate is also home to the University of Auckland Wine Science Centre — a postgraduate programme uniquely embedded in our fully operational winery, where the next generation of New Zealand wine scientists learn their craft alongside our team.
