Jasper Ridge Estate
Jasper Ridge Estate is located at the east end of New Zealand’s Waiheke Island on Cowes Bay Road, near the small coastal settlement of Orapiu, overlooking the Hauraki Gulf.
Our wines are produced from hand-tended Waiheke Island grapes from the estate. The vibrant, pink rosé has red berry aromas take centre stage with crisp, juicy summer strawberry flavours and a refreshing dry finish. Jasper Ridge Estate Syrah wines are deep crimson and dependent on the vintage exhibit dark fruits, plum, blackcurrant, cherry and a signature black pepper spice.
Our unique Rosé and Syrah wine develop thanks to the enrichment from the Jaspillite (Jasper) and soils below ground and protection from the ridge above. Our philosophy is to manage the land responsibly through appropriate and timely estate and vineyard management practices, and our wines are produced sustainably on Waiheke Island. We are self-sustainable, with rain harvested water, on site water disposal and solar power and minimise tractor use by managing the land with a robot mower fed from the solar panels.
Jasper Ridge Estate is a single variety (Syrah) vineyard that is home to around 4000 vines which were hand grafted on site and the first vintage was produced in 2005. The vines are hand-tended through the season to ensure the best quality fruit when it is hand-picked around March/April after which the vines go into hibernation.
The wine is sustainably produced on Waiheke Island and has won an number of awards, including Gold and Best in Class from the London International Wine and Spirits Competition and Gold 5* from the independent The Real Review and Gold 5* from the independent Wine Orbit.

Reviews
Recommended by The Real Review Bob Campbell (Master of Wine): 5* Gold - 95-100 points.
Our 2024 Rosé remains Top Ranking #1 out of 75 rosé wines from across New Zealand.
These wines are in the big league. They are truly excellent wines which are fully representative of their region, variety and maker; wines of pedigree, great balance and harmony. They sing with a kind of rightness; an effortlessness; a natural symmetry. Over 95 points, they are the best of their breed, with great distinction, a certain thrill factor – and sometimes even uniqueness.
Recommended by The Real Review Bob Campbell (Master of Wine): 4* Silver - 94/100 points.
Our 2022 and 2023 Syrah's have been recognised as 4* Silver 91-94/100.
The 90-point threshold is an important one, both psychologically and practically. 90 points is a silver medal in many wine competitions, and that indicates a very high quality wine. Aside from technical quality, it will possess character, balance and that hard-to-define element, style. And also textural refinement, as opposed to coarseness.”
Recommended by Wine Orbit Sam Kim: 5* Gold 93+/100.
Our 2023 Single Vineyard Syrah, 2025 Rosé and 2025 Pinot Gris has been independently reviewed by Wine Orbit and achieved 5* Gold 93/100, outstanding quality showing varietal purity and exemplifying regional type.
