The Coombe Chardonnay 2025 750ml
A single vineyard expression of Chardonnay, carefully cultivated using sustainable and organic farming methods to ensure both the health of the land and the highest quality fruit.
The grapes were hand harvested, from a unique site south of Martinborough, with great attention to detail. Whole bunch pressed gently to preserve their delicate and nuanced flavours.
Primary and malolactic fermentation took place in both French oak and stainless steel tanks. The wine was aged on lees, adding texture, depth, and a rich mouthfeel before bottling in October 2025.
Tucked away in a wild and windy corner of the Wairarapa, this small vineyard is perched on an uplifted rocky terrace, quietly nestled within earshot of a river known for its pure and pristine water supply. A unique wine that truly reflect the distinctiveness of the special place. This limited release of just 800 bottles captures the essence of terroir and dedication to artisanal winemaking.
"A really lovely expression with flavours of fresh apples and white stone fruits, fleshy and varietal, layers of wood spice and grapefruit peel add dimension and depth. Dry, plenty of weight with a creamy texture, medium+ acid line and length. Vanilla and stone fruits, citrus peel and pomaceous fruits, youthful and well made with best drinking from early 2026 through 2029." Cameron Douglas MS
