At Wrights Vineyard, we work from the grassroots to produce hand crafted, boutique wines in an ethical and environmentally friendly way. Our grapes and wines are certified organic and grown using biodynamic techniques. In the winery additives are kept to a minimum, to show case the vintage, wines and terroir of the vineyard.

We are pioneers, having worked from the ground up to develop our first vineyard on bare land. Anything is possible with hard work and determination.

Last year, we received the Sustainable Winery of the Year 2022 award from Aotearoa Organic Wine Awards.

We are guardians of the land, with our loving family of 5 boys - Noah, Elijah, Luke, Guy and Otto. We look forward to the next 20 years, sharing our dreams and making way for the next generation.

Winemaking flows in the blood, Geoff Wright, owner and winegrower, is of Croatian descent, 3^rd generation winemaker in New Zealand (5^th in his family) and the Great-Grandson of Stanko Jurakovich, who held one of the first winemaking licences in New Zealand. We trust the legacy will continue.

We are situated at 1093 Wharerata Road, Gisborne, New Zealand.

At Wrights we have two wine styles :

Natural Wine Co - fresh, pure and taste explosions representing new world wines. Some of the types of wines made under this range is Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Rose, Sparkling Blanc de Noir and Chardonnay.
The Wrights range are old world styles, sourcing grapes from some of the oldest vines in Gisborne, New Zealand from Syrah and Chardonnay.

Shipping

Craft wine coming straight from the producer or winery can take a little longer for delivery than higher-volume wine sent from a warehouse.

We will do our best to deliver your wines in a timely manner to the Wine Collective's warehouse. Once at the warehouse, individual orders we will consolidated and wines will be carefully re-packed with eco-thermo protective wool packaging.
Export dispatch details will be transparently displayed to consumers and tracking is provided to ensure full visibility.

Final delivery depends on the time taken to receive the wine, consolidated shipping, customs clearance, & final courier.

Current peak season delivery time frames are as follows:

Australia: 3-5 weeks by Air
USA: 4-6 weeks by Air
UK: 8-12 weeks by Sea
Asia: 3-5 weeks by Air

Wrights Reserve Organic Chardonnay 2020

***** 93 points, Excellent

"A bold, creamy, ripe and lusciously textured wine with flavours of California peach and grapefruit peel, there’s an echo of orange then flavours toasty wine barrel and wood smoke with vanilla and Brazil-nut. Medium+ acid line, fine wood tannins and a balanced, even finish. Well made with a lengthy finish. A classic style of Chardonnay using the best features of ripe fruit and French oak. Best drinking from 2023 through 2027+."
