Trelinnoe Vineyard Chardonnay 2022 750ml

A single vineyard Chardonnay from Trelinnoe (tree-lin-o) Vineyard on Roys Hill named for the owner’s historical ties to Cornwall.

Trelinnoe Chardonnay is a part of our project to highlight some of the most unique, small, single vineyards in Hawke’s Bay.

The Roys Hill hillside terraces are sandstone over limestone and are planted with clone UCD15 Chardonnay. The fruit was 100% hand-picked, then whole bunch pressed to French oak barriques for fermentation. As with all of our Chardonnays, the Trelinnoe Chardonnay was fermented with indigenous yeast. The wine spent 11 months in oak prior to bottling; there was no fining or cold stabilisation.

The 2022 Trelinnoe Vineyard Chardonnay shows full fruit with a great central nice of acidity. The complexity perfectly balances with the oak.   

Classic Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay, moderately tight and restrained in its youth but with time it will open up to a rich, food friendly wine.

This wine is ready to drink on release and will continue to develop positively for 6 – 8 years.
