Trelinnoe Vineyard Chardonnay 2024 750ml

A single vineyard Chardonnay from Trelinnoe (tree-lin-o) Vineyard on Roys Hill named for the owner’s historical ties to Cornwall.

Trelinnoe Vineyard Chardonnay is a part of our project to highlight some of the most unique, small vineyards in Hawke’s Bay.

The Roys Hill hillside terraces are sandstone over limestone and are planted with clone B95 Chardonnay. The fruit was 100% hand-picked, then whole bunch pressed to French oak barriques for fermentation. As with all of our Chardonnays, the Trelinnoe Vineyard Chardonnay was fermented with indigenous yeast. The wine underwent 100% malolactic fermentation. Élevage was 11 months in French oak prior to bottling; there was no fining or cold stabilisation.

 The 2024 Trelinnoe Vineyard Chardonnay shows the beauty of the vintage with full, ripe fruit and a great central line of acidity. A full, textural palate with the complexity perfectly balancing with the oak.   

 Classic Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay, moderately weighted and restrained in its youth but with time it will open up to a rich, food friendly wine.

This wine is ready to drink on release and will continue to develop positively for 6 – 8 years.
