Pinot Noir 2023 750ml
La Niña’s weather pattern brought a generously warm spring, allowing for even budburst and minimal interruption to shoot growth from traditional spring frosts. Extreme westerly winds were avoided this vintage, as the season’s energy was driven by a milder, wetter easterly flow. This, however, did not affect yields for our block, which averaged 6 tonnes per hectare. Temperatures remained cooler during the vital period of berry development and, with careful tending of the vines, the fruit was pristine. This allowed us the time needed to achieve desired ripeness, crafting wines that reflect our limestone soils and terroir. Harvest began on 23 April, with the final grapes gathered on 29 April.
A delicately and elegantly expressed Waitaki Pinot Noir with lovely concentration, a typical chalky thread and floral details accompanied by red fruit, on a silky mouthfeel and a lasting finish.

Youthful, fresh, varietal and vibrant bouquet with scents and flavours of crunchy red cherry and sweet cranberry, there’s a core of minerality with saline stony quality adding depth and complexity. Dry, taut and salivating with firm tannins and acidity needing time to fuse with the fruit and mineral attributes. Well made with plenty of length and potential. Best drinking from 2026 through 2034+.
