BARREL RESERVE Pinot Gris 2023 750ml Limited Edition
La Niña’s weather pattern brought a generously warm spring, allowing for even budburst and minimal interruption to shoot growth from traditional spring frosts. Extreme westerly winds were avoided this vintage, as the season’s energy was driven by a milder, wetter easterly flow. This did not affect yields for our block, which averaged 6 tonnes per hectare.
Temperatures remained cooler during the vital period of berry development and, with careful tending of the vines, the fruit was pristine. This allowed us the time needed to achieve desired ripeness, crafting wines that reflect our limestone soils and terroir. Harvest started on 23 April, with the final grapes gathered on 29 April.
This Barrel Reserve Pinot Gris is rich and broad with lush fruit and spice; the oily palate married lively acidity, unfolding chalky minerals and toasty details.

94 Points
Straw hues with golden highlights and very bright appearance lead to a bouquet of complexity and richness, barrel ferment scents and ripe golden apple and baked goods. This wine’s story is best told on the palate with a satin-cream touch then flavours of baked apples and pears, a mix of fruits and barrel spices, lees and fine tannins. I suggest some chill on the wine for service - say 10 C. Best drinking from 2024 through 2027.

93 Points - Excellent
Nice bright yellow tones with golden hues, revealing aromas of tropical fruits, toasted brioche, and vanilla bean spice. The palate is full-bodied and opulent, balanced by flinty acidity.
